Origin Seaweed is Andrew and Solida aka “Seaweed & Rainbow”

Origin Seaweed is a new iteration of a 25 year endeavor responsibly wildcrafting delicious and nutrient-dense seaweeds along the pristine coastline of Mendocino, CA.  It all began as the answer to the question of how to earn a ‘right livelihood’ without leaving behind a wake of destruction and unintended consequences.

Together, we share a renewed focus of providing seaweed directly to consumers to promote health and consciousness through nutrition and mindfulness with the goal of prevention and relief from chronic diseases for all people.  We especially seek collaborations with community organizations focused on high risk populations and mothers and children.

After 25 years of waking in the dark, squeezing into damp wetsuits in the cold, being battered by waves, harvesting in the fog and wind and spreading seaweed to dry in the hot sun, this labor of gathering seaweed today for essential nutrition feels more relevant than ever.

Many of us still have the choice or some latitude of choice for what we put in our mouths. Utilize that choice in service of your own life.

Eating is really an opportunity to practice self-love and self-respect and cultivate the power of our will to better see ourselves and know ourselves and grow our capacity for life.
